Xplore session for pupils
Xplore delivered a ‘Colour Changing Chemicals’ session to six of our classes this week. First, they discussed the pH scale, explaining the differences between acids and alkalis. Students were then asked to add unknown chemicals to a neutral solution, made using red cabbage water, to determine whether they were acidic or alkaline and to observe the resulting reactions. The students thoroughly enjoyed acting as scientists and testing chemical reactions.
