Dining at Bryn Tirion Hall School is above all a sociable event where all of our pupils and staff join together in our canteen to enjoy healthy and tasty food.
Tables are shared by all, and whilst the atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed, table manners remain important and are practised by all.
As our pupils spend much of their day in the school, they need nutritious food for long term health. A healthy and balanced diet also helps them to learn in the classroom and leads to improved educational outcomes.
Breakfast is offered to young people before lessons start in the morning. This includes wholegrain toast or crumpets and a range of wholewheat cereals or porridge. We have fruit bowls in all of the classrooms and fresh fruit (bananas, apples, pears, mandarins and other seasonal fruits) is always available.
For lunch, we serve a good choice of fresh vegetables and a range of salads, and we also have vegetarian options and can cater for anyone with food allergies.
Our pupils are encouraged to try new foods, so we strive to make our food interesting, varied and tasty. We don’t push fussy eaters, but inspire them to try a small portion of something they have never tried before and we are often successful.
