News from BTH

We are committed to continuing our support for BTH pupils after they leave school. We remain their ‘forever friend’ and love to hear about their amazing journeys and experiences since moving on from BTH.

Upon completion of year 11, 12 or 13, the support and communication with, and for, our pupils continues. We check students are happy for us to contact them to collect destinations data for our records. All pupils and/or their families are contacted in the Autumn term to confirm their place of study, training, and/or their employment status and to ask if any support is needed.

Some request assistance with CV writing, applying for employment, educational courses/transfers and references. A small number will continue to require additional support and guidance. Under these circumstances, they are invited into school or to meet a member of staff within the community to discuss alternative opportunities and support packages, including signposting to general or specialist services, e.g. Surgeries, employment agencies and counselling organisations.

With agreement, we will continue to contact students regularly to gain updated information and provide any further support they may need. Pupils may also be contacted if we are unsure how they are doing in their education or employment path. All pathways are recorded as part of our centralised Destinations Data process for monitoring and reporting outcomes.

“There is a clear focus on pupils’ destinations and career aspirations. For example, pupils in key stage 3 participate in a beneficial variety of taster sessions and engagement projects. Older pupils participate in valuable work experience opportunities, including catering and hospitality and computer maintenance.”

“It is like a family, it’s nice to know we still care about him and his future prospects. Even supporting him with his CV since he has left. ”
