Happy New Year
Blwyddyn Newydd Dda, Happy New Year and Welcome back.
I hope you’ve all had a relaxing Christmas and New Year. It was enjoyable to be able to spend time with family and friends without the restrictions of recent years.
Before Christmas, we were lucky enough to enjoy our first school ski trip since Covid with some of our year 11 pupils. I’m really pleased to say that we are currently in Chamonix once again for the first ski trip of 2023.
As with many of the activities we undertake at BTH, our ski trips have always been an important way to give pupils the opportunity to explore new experiences while developing their skills and building their confidence. We’ll bring you some updates of the trip as it progresses.
Back at school, Lower school will be discovering all about Space as part of this term’s learning project. Look out for any aliens and astronauts around school! Those in Upper School will be continuing to work towards their qualifications as well as attending college and taking part in work experience placements.
In March, our Pupil Leaders will be visiting the UK Parliament for a tour and a workshop. As well as seeing the Central Lobby and Westminster Hall, pupils are hoping for a glimpse inside the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
We’ll be continuing with our external leadership activities and are looking forward to visiting the indoor climbing wall as well as some bushcraft and inspiring walks.
On Friday afternoons we’re introducing a range of activities to encourage communication amongst pupils and create a positive environment while they strive to achieve a gold award.
As always, you’ll be able to keep up-to-date with all of our activities and find out more about the work our pupils are undertaking, through social media and on our website.
I hope to see you all soon.
Best wishes for a successful 2023.
